I was there sitting in the balcony watching the proceedings below. My first time in the LA House of Representatives, and well WOW! There is alot going on! You have to pay attention and follow well because the pace is brisk. Be prepared. I actually took a little video which I will share as soon as I get a chance to edit. Good stuff, though I should have kept it running for about a minute more, ohh well. I have attached some good pictures which were taken in the waiting room outside the Louisiana House of Representatives.
I would like to thank Louisiana State Representative John Schroder and LA Realtors President Elect 2012 Rick Roberts. I am not sure who the other guy in the picture is… he looks a little familiar but… 🙂
Thank you LA State Representative John Schroder and Louisiana Realtors 2012 President Elect Rick Roberts.

Halfway There!
On May 24, the Louisiana House of Representatives overwhelmingly voted, 100-0, to pass House Bill 135, our transfer tax constitutional amendment. Numerous Realtor were present at the State Capitol for REALTOR DAY and cheered loudly when the bill passed.
In all likelihood, HB 135 will be heard next in the Senate Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Committee the week of June 6. The Senate Floor vote could occur late in the week of June 6 or early the following week. When the committee hearing is finalized, we will provide you with that information.
Remember to visit our campaign website, www.staytaxfree.com, and encourage your family, friends, neighbors, customers and clients to sign up for our campaign updates on the website. It’s important that we begin now to build a database of supporters so we can drive those voters to the polls in November.

Be prepared to vote on HB 135 in November 2011. The Northshore Area Board of Realtors will be working hard on getting the word out. This is a good bill. It eliminates real estate transfer taxes from being enacted in the State of LA.
Less Taxes and Smaller Government!
Thank You
