Black Bear moving through St Tammany Parish
All I can say is Yahoooo!!!!

both with sightings of the bear. One of the reasons I am so excited is I have a LA Black Bear license plate.

First St Tammany REIA Meeting; Wednesday February, 25th, 2009
This coming Wednesday. February 25th, 2009 from 6:30 – 8:30 is our first St Tammany REIA meeting. REIA stands for Real Estate Investor's Association, and we are looking to be a consolidated resource for the real estate investor in St Tammany Parish. Multi-family properties, foreclosures, pre-foreclosure/short sales, REOs, wholesaling, flips, buy and hold, mobile homes, vacant land, commercial. There is a multitude ways to invest with real estate and good opportunities abound. With a little knowledge you too can be dangerous. Questions about financing and mortgages, home inspections, leasing or selling, appraisal/valuation, insurance, taxes, comparable solds in your market.

Northshore Spring Garden Show – 2009

The Northshore Spring Garden Show and Plant Sale

March 21-22, Covington
The Northshore Spring Garden Show and Plant Sale will be held on Saturday and Sunday, March 21-22, at the St. Tammany Parish Fairgrounds in Covington.
Sponsored by the St. Tammany Master Gardeners, the show will feature plant and garden supplies for sale, a plant health clinic and children’s activities.
LSU AgCenter specialists and Master Gardeners will offer seminars on native plants, lawns, landscaping, working with worms, bees and other gardening topics.
The show runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. both days. Admission good for both days is $3 per person ages 13 and over. Children 12 and under may enter free. Proceeds from the show go toward funding an agriculture/horticulture scholarship.

I know. I don't' like taxes anymore than you do, and would love to see sweeping changes, mainly in the IRS, more importantly is the actual spending of the money. However this yoke is not going to be removed anytime soon, and paying property taxes, to a great extent, is a duty of owning property in our society, and a necessary evil. IE living and working in your area, without it, there is chaos. In our local communities we need police, fireman, roads, drainage, parks, etc. I looked for a breakdown of exactly how our St Tammany Parish tax dollars are spent, and I did find links to files http://www.stassessor.org/taxes.html on the Assessor's website. Though the links are broken at this moment. This is one subject I want to know more about.

If you have never played the game, I highly recommend it, and once you play so will you. This game is a great learning tool for anyone who has ever thought about investing in real estate.
We will have sandwiches and refreshments for all.
We are planning on having several games set up in separate areas, so there will be room for many players. Do not be hesitant, it will be a friendly atmosphere and I can almost guarantee you will leave with more knowledge than you came with, on top of having a good time.
