Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court and Tangipahoa Parish Assessor

I like giving information about Louisiana Parish Clerk of Courts, because there is so much information which can be obtained through them. Louisiana is a "Full Disclosure" State, which means all deeds and mortgages are public record, so if you have any interest in a piece of property for purchase, the Parish Clerk of Court is your starting point.

I will let you know, Clerk of Courts generate their own revenue, which is why there are recording fees, and copy fees, as well it costs money to view and print documents online. So, if you go to the Courthouse, Tangipahoa Clerk of Court you can view the actual recordation by using the book and page number. There are computers which you will be able to use to find the book and page number, searching either by name or address to locate the property in question.

You can also use the Tangipahoa Parish Clerk of Court Online which is Free, however, you cannot view any images, and without looking at the actual documents, you cannot get true numbers. Here is a list of their Online Service Pricing, and NO I do not work for them. 🙂

Properties Sold at the St Tammany Parish Foreclosure Sale July 1st, 2009

The number of foreclosures is continuing to rise in St Tammany Parish. In 2007 the number averaged 25 – 30 scheduled per week. In 2008 that number rose to 35 – 40 scheduled per week. In June of 2009 the average number has been 45 – 50 scheduled foreclosures per week for St Tammany Parish, LA. This is a two-fold increase in this number in a two year period. Whoa! Slow down, please.

The problem is there is no news on the horizon for an increase in home values. That which will be able to pull ourselves up by our boots straps and rise out of this muck. I am troubled. The sky looks foreboding.

Regardless, here also is the list of cancelled sales which were scheduled to go on July 1st, 2009, but did not make it for various reasons.

What are the schools associated with an address in St Tammany Parish?

This is a very common question I run across. St Tammany Parish, including the Cities of Mandeville, Covington, and Slidell, Louisiana, have some of the best schools in the State. Due to this fact, the St Tammany Parish School Board has a handy feature online, through which you type in an address and Bam!, the 4 public schools servicing the address are returned. This is the link for the St Tammany School Board Address Query.

The query will return the Elementary, Middle, Jr High, and High Schools. The School Board is still updating the database, so not every address will work, but they are working to get it complete.
