On 4/17/11, the St Tammany / Washington Parish Homebuilder’s Association catered a holiday Easter Egg Hunt for the local children in Madisonville, LA. This free event also allowed the general public to view the HBA’s exquisite 2011 Charity Raffle House which is located on 800 Green Leaf Circle in Bedico Creek Subdivision located in Madisonville, Louisiana 70447. The 2011 Tangipahoa Parish Property Tax Sale is being held Online at www.CivicSource.com. An online auctioneer allowing the Parish(es) to sell the tax lien properties in the most convenient manner. I think it is awesome. They may have sold their properties this way last year and I did not catch it. (since I did not buy in Tangi last year.) Regardless, I am all for it. Good luck and happy bidding. Tax sales are a great investment. Up to 17% return the first year alone. It goes down a bit in the following years, however the return is still over 12%, so… I am ok with it… :)

The SLU Economic Reporter is an excellent document which provides insight into the local economies for St Tammany, Tangipahoa, Washington, Livingston, and St Helena Parishes. Anyone who wants a clear window into our local Northshore market should look closely at this paper. Just so you know… I find it very easy to go into a deep tirade of adjectives about the SLU Economic Reporter, something that sounds like; professional, informative, outstanding, competent, knowledgeable and invaluable resource. (Ummm… Just exactly how many constitutes a tirade? Did I meet the requirement?)  :)

This Quarter; Q1 2011, the SLU Economic Reporter details the current (or most recent data available) status of the Northshore Housing Market. Check it out. This is good information.
