I have known and worked with the owner of AMC Computer Services for over 10 years. Allen is a knowledgeable, honest, fair, and basically a no BS guy when it comes to computers. No offense, but computer repair is similar to auto mechanics. Never send your wife or girlfriend to have the car worked on. The mechanics know she does not know, and they can use this to their advantage. It is the same with computers. When I used to work on computers I would have people tell me first thing… "I do not know a thing about computers!" This is the worst statement you can tell someone when you drop off your computer to be repaired. 🙂 This is simply leading the lambs to the slaughter. Play your cards close to your vest when in unfamiliar territory. When you find a good, honest, auto mechanic you stick with them, the same holds true for computer repair services.

Some offense taken. Being an auto mechanic for over 25 years, you couldn’t be more wrong with your comparative statement. Women ask far many more questions and investigate far more than any man I’ve ever come across. Just because something is technical doesn’t mean women will blindly throw money away. And yes, I’m a guy.

I have 3 older sisters and they would be
the first to say, I do not want to bring the car in without my husband.
This is not a slight against women. They have never changed oil before, and the
only person at fault is her for not seeking the knowledge, or possibly our
Father for not teaching. This is also not a slight against mechanics. I like
the new(er) commercial with the mechanic wearing a cape, showing who the real
heroes are. (I had a blown out tire on the Causeway, it was midday and the
middle of July, I have more respect for the Causeway Service Patrols than ever
before, he may have very well saved me from heat stroke. The temperature and
the heat reflecting off the concrete made it like sitting in a frying pan
trying to change that tire. The man was an Angel.) As well, I know, for a fact,
there are honest mechanics out there, as well honest computer technicians. However,
I also know, for a fact, there are shysters in each of these fields. Women and auto
mechanics seemed a soft target at the time. J
