    99 Homes sold in Eastern St Tammany Parish for the month of March 2012, which is welcome increase, (almost 25%) from the lower volume, 76 homes, sold during the month of February. Nice!

    However, I must mention the robo signing scandal. Soon we will see an increase in the number of homes being foreclosed on, and this does not bode well for current homeowners. In my opinion, there will be a price drop in residential home values due to these distressed properties hitting the market. Sellers beware, you are not out of the woods yet. And for Buyers, well the outlook looks good with more deals coming online. Good Lord willing once this wave breaks we will a slow, but steady, rise in home values.

    It took us 5 years to get here. It will take us 5 years to get out…

76 homes sold in the Cities of Slidell, Pearl River, and Lacombe for the month of February 2012. WooHoo!! 76 is a nice jump, around a 25% increase, from the 58 sold in January. 2012 will hopefully be a better year; I know the robo-signing scandal is behind us and there will soon be an increase in the number of foreclosures and hence REOs hitting the market soon. These will have to absorbed by the current market; which may mean a short term decrease in home values, However, good Lord willing, once the back log of foreclosures is caught up, we will begin to rise out of this economic muck.

Only 58 homes sold in Eastern St Tammany Parish during January 2012, which is a small decrease when looking back at the 70 homes sold during December 2011. No need to stress, January is always a slow month. Christmas was just around the corner, many people were very busy, days are short and the weather is cold. Better numbers are ahead. 🙂
