Abita Springs Trail Head Museum
The Abita Springs Trail Head Museum is open to the public. Right now Children's artwork is on display. Please stop by to look around. You can enjoy lunch at the Abita Brew Pub or a bike ride on the St. Tammany Trace. Also if you're looking for a great family outing, the new park is and water fountain play area is open and the gazebo has plenty of shade and picnic tables if you want to dine alfresco. After reading an article in the “Louisiana Country”, the official publication of several electric cooperatives in Louisiana, about the Purple Martin population here, I wanted to post a few specifics. Information about Purple Martins can be obtained from Purple Martin Conservation Association. There is information available on aiding martins and hosting their colonies, as well as protecting them from predators. The PMCA can also be reached at 814-833-7656.
