I, as the Veterinarian of the St. Tammany Humane Society in Covington , Louisiana , am proud to be the harbinger of exciting news. We would like you to read the following as an as a caring community member. The St. Tammany Humane Society needs your help in a very real and rewarding way. This will not cost you a cent. After several grueling months of competition, the St. Tammany Humane Society is in 2nd place in a national contest to win a million dollar shelter makeover (Until yesterday we were #1)! We have an actual chance of winning this contest with the hopes of building a brand new shelter (remember we are a no-kill shelter, so a bigger facility is sorely needed).

I caution anyone that uses Dr. Michelle Newfield at St. Tammany Parish Humane Society for its services. From what I have experienced, I would NOT recommend her or the clinic. The medical staff is the most unprofessional staff I’ve had the displeasure to meet. I did not witness compassion towards my dogs; in fact it was the complete opposite. My dogs were mishandled by the members of the medical staff; one of my dogs (5 pound dog) fell of the exam table. The medical staff members did not brother to pick up my dog and check to see if my dog was okay, they simply asked me to leave the room without completely the exam.
