89 Homes sold in Eastern St Tammany Parish during the month of July 2012, which is a larger than expected decrease over the very nice numbers of 138 homes sold during the month of June. 89 is alot closer to the 99 sold during May, therefore I would have to characterize June as simply a spike and outside the norm.

The Summer months are always "hotter times" for the real estate market, and the higher volume numbers are a welcome respite from the slow crawl the market has been moving at.

138 Homes sold in Eastern St Tammany Parish during the month of June 2012, which is a huge increase (almost 40%) over the 99 homes, sold during the month of May. Woohoo!! Now this latest sales developement is something we can cheer about. Lord willing this sales boost will hold, and show some consistency as we head further into Summer.

127 homes sold in Mandeville and Madisonville during the month of June, 2012. This is a decent sized increase over the 107 homes sold during the month of May, a little over 15%. More home sales in many cases means stonger home values, though in the short term, you should not put much weight on any one month. Summer months historically have a higher volume of sales; one reason is school is out, and many parents do not want to place any undo anxiety on their children by moving them during the school year. Another reason is the days are longer, and there is more daylight to take advantage of, as well there are not as many traditional holidays, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years to contend with.

99 Homes sold in Eastern St Tammany Parish during the month of May 2012, which is a decent sized increase (15% +) over the 84 homes, sold during the month of April. As expected this time of the year, we should have an increase as we head into the warmer months and longer days. Summer is close, school is getting out… Good Lord willing the increase in sales volume will continue, as well show some long term consistency. Please email with any questions.

94 homes sold in the Covington, Abita Springs, and Folsom area for the month of May 2012; is a hefty boost over the 68 homes sold during the month of April; (26 homes is close to a 40% increase over April…) It is always nice to have an increase in the volume of sales, especially when they exceed expectations. Some of these latest developements can be attributed to the end of the school year and the beginning of Summer. Regardless, good news is always nice to hear.
